The Laliga title race has come down to the last day, where all the games will be played at the same damn time. This certainly reminded me of the “Agueroooooo” moment of the 11/12 Premier League title race, when Manchester City went into their final game top of the Premier League by goal difference, and they only needed to score as many goals as Manchester United to win their first Premier League title after 44 years. But it wasn’t that easy with City lurching into injury time 2–1 down in Etihad, United were leading 1–0 to leave their city rivals in need of two more goals. Dzeko equalized in the 92nd minute and while everyone in the stadium were tensed, Mario Balotelli set up Kun Aguero with a delicious pass and Aguero scored while Martin Tyler screamed “AGUEROOOOOO… I swear you’ll never see anything like this ever again!” Laliga this year could be in a similar situation with only Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in the title race.

Barcelona were forced out of the title race after the Catalans lost 2–1 to Celta Vigo. Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid just needs to win their last game while Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid have to win and depend on their city rivals to either lose or tie. If Atletico manages to win the league it will be their 11th Laliga title and if Real managed to do the same it will be their 35th Laliga title. Laliga’s decider matches will be played simultaneously on Saturday, May 22.

The French title race is similar to Laliga’s title race with two teams competing for the title at the same time on the same day. With just a point separating the two teams, Lille and Paris Saint-Germain make the Ligue 1 title race more interesting. Lille needs a win to be the new French champions while Mauricio Pochettino’s side needs a win and they are dependent on the leaders to drop points against Angers.

Champions league qualifications:

Chelsea, Liverpool and Leicester City (/credits — Sports Illustrated)

In Premier League Chelsea, Liverpool and Leicester City are competing for the Champions League spot while Manchester City and Manchester United have qualified for UCL. Currently, Chelsea is third on the table with 67 points, Liverpool is fourth with 66 points and Leicester City is fifth with 66 points. The teams that will qualify for UCL will be decided on 23rd May when all the matches will be played simultaneously.

In Serie A, Juventus the reigning champions are in real trouble this season, they are fifth in the points table with 75 points and if they don’t win their final game, Juventus and Cristiano Ronaldo will have to play Europa League next season. Also, they have to depend on either Milan and Napoli to drop points who currently are third and fourth in the points table respectively with 76 points.
